When you clean laminate flooring, stay away from the high priced detergents and abrasive cleansers. They are not for this type of flooring.  The poly-coating covering the laminate flooring allows you to sweep the dust most of the time.  This is your daily cleaning.

Here are a few points to keep in mind when as you clean laminate flooring to insure that it stays in top condition for years to come:

• To weekly clean your laminate flooring, simply mop with ammonia or a mixture of vinegar and water.
• Do not use conventional soap-based cleaners. If possible, look for citrus-based cleaners.
• For simple spills use a damp cloth or a spray window cleaner product and a dry towel.
• Never use scouring powder, steel wool or wax strippers on a laminate floor; they will scratch the topcoat of plastic.
• Never wax, sand or apply lacquer to a laminate floor surface. (see above)
• If you're unsure of using any product on your clean laminate flooring, test it in an inconspicuous area first - such as underneath your stove or fridge.
