Hardwood
Flooring Installation differs depending on the type of wood flooring
you have. You could have laminate flooring, traditional wood planks
or wide wood planks. You may have finished or unfinished wood
planks. Also depending on who makes the planks the installation
instructions may differ. Another fact to look for is weather the
planks are tongue and groove or not. This too can vary the
installation process. If you plan to do the Hardwood Flooring
Installation yourself the best thing to do is consults the
directions the manufacturer advises however I do have a few tips to
get you started.
Hardwood
Flooring Installation can be as hard or as easy as you make it.
With traditional tongue and groove plank flooring you will need a
special air nailer; you can rent one from a number of local do it
your self stores. They can show you how to use the nailer if you
need assistance. You simply lay the planks down snapping them in
place and nailing each individual plank. If however your planks are
not tongue and groove you will have to attach them with small nail
from the front of the plank. A helpful hint when laying these types
of floors is to put a little glue down before you attach them this
wills eliminate the squeaky board affect. If you have laminate wood
flooring there is no tacking or gluing they simply snap into place
using a floating floor technique. Again, though when we are talking
about Hardwood Flooring Installation it is best to look over the
manufacturers instructions.
If you are doing
a Hardwood Flooring Installation and the flooring you purchased does
not have an instruction sheet with it is a good idea to go online to
find that particular manufacturer and seek out the instructions that
way. If this does not work you can always go to the do-it yourself
web sites or purchase a how-to book from hundreds of different book
sites on the World Wide Web. Hardwood Flooring Installation is not
hard- it just takes a little patients. |
