Natural Cork Flooring

Natural Cork Flooring is resilient and a soft flooring.  Cork has been used for generations for many different things including flooring. It is used in wine bottles, wall coverings, and cushions of many different types, message boards and a host of other things. Some people may think that this is a new alternative for floors but it has been being used for decades on floors in commercial buildings that are still in use today. It has not been readily available to the public for some years now with the introduction of easier to care for flooring. With technology today though, Natural Cork Flooring is one of the easiest types of flooring to care for with its variety of finishes.

Natural Cork Flooring can be finished to resist staining, scratching and dirt. It requires very little maintenance and is very soft on the feet.  It comes in colors ranging from light brown to deep mahogany. It is available in thick nesses ranging from 5/32” to ½” and costs any where from $4 to $6 a foot.  It is offered by many different flooring companies and can be a great flooring option for any room including bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, basements and kitchens. Natural Cork Flooring opens up a whole new array of choices in home and office flooring.

There are a few drawbacks to Natural Cork Flooring in that it can fade over time like any other natural wood and can be sensitive to direct sunlight. It can expand and contract in extreme temperatures so it is important to keep your home or office at a neutral temperature again like any other wood flooring. All in all it is still a great product and it offers you more choices in wood flooring. You can find Natural Cork Flooring the same place you find many of your other floor coverings; on your favorite flooring sites on the World Wide Web.
